“The community is great, but pretty much everything else makes me want to kill myself.” – Toast
There’s no doubt that the release of Bethesda’s Fallout 76 was a complete Clusterfuck. Every gamer knows how buggy the game was at launch. Only idiots buy the game now and days. So anyways, I bought the game a couple months ago.
This isn’t just another “game buggy and bad” review, because its not true. Since 2018 the game has gotten much better. The story is kind of shit, and the bugs that aren’t patched are game-breaking. The game advertises its in-game store as “Cosmetics only” similar to Fortnite and other popular games. This is just false, purchasing fallout’s subscription known as “Fallout 1st” for real world money gives the player game-breaking advantages in the wasteland.
A strong point of the game is its community. With 120 hours in the game I have not had any encounters with toxic players. All the active players are level 300+, I only got to about level 90 before quitting. That’s actually quite high considering the game runs out of content when you hit level 50. Being level 50 doesn’t give you much on an advantage though, because this game is incredibly unbalanced.
First of all, assaultrons will one shot you. Unless you’re in power armor you will instantly die every. single. time. There’s one mission “Fun and Games” that has 2 assaultrons. I must’ve died 20 times trying to complete this quest. There also other issues like stashes having way too low capacity and ammo being way too hard to obtain. I found myself carrying 5 different weapons at a time to cover the entire ammo spectrum.
Besides that, you run into the occasional bug here and there. Most bugs aren’t rage quit worthy, but when you come across one it’s REALLY BAD. That’s why I’m giving the game a 3/5 stars, one for every time the game made me want to jump out a 76 store building.

“An amazing experience” – Pluto
Swinging into Insomniac’s spectacular game catalog is Spiderman PS4. This game was announced to an insane amount of excitement and anticipation. Boy did it live up to the hype.
The game features a great cast of characters. Spidey (obviously), MJ, Miles Morales, Aunt May, and plenty of other familiar faces to Spiderman fans. The story’s accuracy to the comic books is astounding. This is the closest to an actual comic Spiderman game we’ve gotten, and Yuri Lowenthal’s job as Spiderman is nothing to scoff at.
Starting off, this game’s swinging is insane. When playing you can really get immersed into that spiderman experience. Saving people, stopping car chases, catching burglars, it’s all there. You can even wave and high-five the people on the streets. The game wouldn’t be nearly as good without the great platforming.
Of course, this isn’t all the game has to offer. Spiderman PS4 has a great story. The story is probably better than most of the movie’s if I’m being honest. The game focuses on Spiderman, the main hero, and Mister Negative, the main villain. As you play through the story you’ll uncover secrets that point to who Mister Negative is! Major Game Spoilers Ahead The game also has cameos from The Sinister Six, Vulture, Scorpion, Rhino, and Electro, and boy are these guys no pushovers. As soon as they are introduced you start fighting. The fights these guys put you in are by far the hardest in the game. With Rhino and Scorpion being the hardest for me. In the end, your best friend, mentor, and boss turns out to be Doc Ock. If you know anything about Doc Ock you might have expected this. There are cool details that lead you to start uncovering his identity early on. As soon as he puts the brain thingy on there will be posters with the tentacles, and suit, his personality shifts. The reveal is very well done. The final fight between Peter and him made me tear up a little bit. Spoilers Over
The overall story is great, giving all the main characters enough screen time to flesh out their arcs. A character that really sticks out is Miles. They hit all the notes needed to make him comic accurate, but not as much as I’d like. The way he gains spider powers is something that was changed. The way he gets his powers in the comics is way cooler than in the game. I can see why they changed it though, if they kept it the same it would’ve been a harder transition to him getting bit. So if you are looking for COMPLETE comic accuracy this game isn’t for you, and if that’s the case then you most likely don’t like any other spider-man media anyways. It hits a lot of comic beats but it doesn’t go all the way. The changes for the most part are great and really add to the game.
The combat is ultimate. The punches have weight, sending bad guys flying. The web incorporation into his attacks is really cool to see. Overall, the fighting style he uses is beautiful. The kicks, swinging, the punches tie it all together. The stealth kills in this game are also satisfying. This game’s combat system is a great combination of stealth and high action. There are points where you’ll have an insane amount of enemies. Typically you’ll want to take them out stealthily, but the combos are so fun that sometimes you can’t resist going all out.
In the end, this is in competition for the best superhero game of all time and a 5/5 for me

- Persona 5 Royal

“A strong blend of beautiful art and amazing combat makes this a must-play.” – Pluto
If you’ve played other entries in the Persona series, viewing this from the outside you might think it’s the same content they’ve been releasing for 25 years. The second you enter in though it’s way different from the others. Typically Persona takes a long time to get you captivated. They have long sets of cutscenes and little gameplay, typically not even letting you fight for 5+ hours. This game is different, as soon as you enter you’re greeted by a casino heist. About ten or so minutes in you hit your first enemy encounter. This is a very refreshing take on an old concept that persona has been using.
One of the main strong suits of Persona 5 Royal is its dungeons (palaces). Unlike the auto-generated dungeons of its predecessors, this game has hand-crafted dungeons with branching paths and things to find. While the Tartarus and the midnight channel of Persona 3 and 4 had collectibles, they were just random things such as healing items or SP recoveries. Persona 5 Royal has all those things, but it also has Will Seeds. The Will Seeds can be turned into useful items via Jose in Mementos. These are great items that can increase stats, heal the party, or add stat buffs (with sukukaja, tarukaja, or rakukaja).
While Persona 5 Royal may have hand-crafted dungeons it still has its own take on the randomly generated dungeons found in the other games. Mementos is a place introduced early on. During days that you don’t have a palace to go to you can go to mementos (you can go on a palace day, but you probably shouldn’t). It’s a great place to grind, especially after you unlock Ryuji’s “Insta-kill” ability, and get healing items for free!
The strongest part of Persona 5 Royal (and every other Persona game) is the characters. The Persona games are known for the great mix of social sim and JRPG elements. They have a system known as confidants, this allows you to hang out with characters aside from the main story. It costs valuable time, but it’s typically worth it. It allows you to unlock abilities, and in Royal, the third semester. If you max out a confidant then the character’s heart grows three sizes and gains a new persona, some designs are better than others. It’s still always better to max out the confidant so if you have the chance, take it!
The game isn’t perfect though. Some palaces feel way more complete than others, but they’re all still solid. Some characters could definitely use more screen time. For example, Character spoiler Haru can be completely forgotten about after her debut. While Ryuji steals the show from beginning to end.
In the end, I’d give this game 5/5 stars. It is far and away the best entry in the Persona series and maybe even the entire Shin Megami Tensei Series.

“Endless replayability, great to play with friends and hot single moms.” – Toast
If you like sitting at your computer for 3 hours a session, this game is for you! One of the best grand strategy games released by Paradox Interactive. This is a game that you could play for thousands of hours and never run out of content. The public multiplayer community is toxic so avoid it, but its a great game for close friends. There is also a large competitive scene but it takes hundreds of hours to even compete against the no-lifes. Ahem.
WARNING: The mechanics are complicated, and every tutorial on YouTube is over an hour long itself. The AI is atrocious and your allies will sometimes unintentionally work against you. By association the enemy AI is also bad, but thats ok because it allows for satisfyingly moments like surrounding the entire Soviet army. Caus’ Fuck em’.
Overall, there’s no doubt this game is for a very specific audience. I would strongly suggest watching youtubers first before buying. The game also goes on sale often and it’s definitely worth the wait.
I will give this game 4.5 / 5.
